NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown 2018

Image
We just experienced a trade deadline for the ages. Not just hours before the clock hit zero (on Thursday February 8th at 3:00 PM), but there were a couple other big moves made before it. In this article, I'm going to break down multiple moves made before the trade deadline occurred this year. Blake Griffin to the Pistons Pistons Receive: Blake Griffin, Willie Reed (traded to Pelicans for Jameer Nelson), Brice Johnson (traded to the Grizzlies) Clippers Receive: Boban Marjanovic, Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, DET 2018 1st Round Pick, DET 2nd Round Pic      Now this one came out of left field. Everyone had predicted that the Clippers would trade the likes of DeAndre Jordan and Lou Williams because they were expiring contracts and would hold on to Blake because they had just re-signed him the prior year to a max deal, but in fact the exact opposite happened: DJ and Lou are still Clippers (with Sweet Lou just recently signing a 3 year $24 million deal which I thou...

My Sixers Lineup

Image
It's been a long time since my last post. Many things have happened with free agency (Paul Millsap to the Nuggets, Hayward to the Celtics, etc.) and even trades (Kyrie for IT). Now that the season will be starting within a little longer than a month, here is what I think the Sixers starting lineup should be. STARTING LINEUP PG: Markelle Fultz      The #1 overall pick from this years draft is a lock for the starting point guard position. There's a reason why he was picked first overall over players like Lonzo Ball or Josh Jackson. Lonzo may be a better passer and Josh Jackson may be a better defender, but Markelle Fultz was the best fit for this team. We needed a point guard who could do everything, shoot, pass, and rebound, and that's exactly what we are getting with Fultz. He may not be someone who will average a high amount of assists, but that's not what we exactly need because we have Ben Simmons who will be handling the ball along wit...

My Answers to the NBA's Biggest Questions

Image
There are a lot of questions most people will ask regarding the NBA. Here is what I think about some of those questions. What's going on in New York?      Phil Jackson and James Dolan are really screwing over the Knicks. They're wasting cap space by signing Joakim Noah to a 4 year $82 million contract, trading for Derrick Rose to basically let him go after one year, and 31 year old Courtney Lee is getting $50 million over 4 years. Phil Jackson is also screwing over his own players. He's quoted as saying "We've not been able to win with [Anthony] on the court at this time. I think the direction with our team is that he's a player that would be better off somewhere else and using his talent somewhere where he can win or chase that championship". You just can’t say that about your own player when he is trying his hardest to win for you. You’re just making everything worse. Not only is he making a mockery of his star player (I’m not even sure...
