Breaking Down The NBA 2021 Free Agency/Offseason So Far

Image
Free agency is as good as over. Lauri Markkanen is still on the open market (oh my god what a big name who won't be going after him), which is just about the extent of actual decent free agents still left. There's been rumors about him going to Dallas or Charlotte, but all we know so far is it's probably not going to be Chicago. So I've decided to write about how I think some teams did. Winners Chicago Bulls In: Lonzo Ball (4/85), Alex Caruso (4/37), DeMar DeRozan (3/85), Tony Bradley (2/3.8) Out: Thaddeus Young, Al Farouq-Aminu, Tomas Satoransky, Garrett Temple, Daniel Theis Still On Market: Lauri Markkanen, Denzel Valentine     Going into free agency, the Bulls were in an awful position. Having just traded Wendell Carter Jr, the 8th pick (Franz Wagner), and a 2023 1st just to not even make the play-in, the Bulls were in trouble to being mediocre, then losing Zach Lavine, then being bad, then losing a really good pick. Good news for them, they seemed to hit it out

2021 NBA Draft Review

Damn near a whole week after the draft and I finally get this article out. You can read it if you want. Don't have to. I'm not forcing you to do anything 🤷   Just a quick warning: I wrote most of this before free agency, didn't feel like re-writing each one regarding what free agents each team got/lost. I been procrastinating too hard to get it out before. Free agency article coming soon... hopefully. Atlanta Hawks  No. 20: Jalen Johnson (Duke) | SF No. 48 Sharife Cooper (Auburn) | PG     Jalen Johnson was certainly an interesting pick at 20. He came to Duke expecting to be a lottery pick in this years draft, hoping that being in the limelight at Duke would help propel his stock. In fact the opposite happened, with Johnson not playing to expectations, getting injured, and eventually opting out of the rest of the season at Duke in February, citing a desire to enter into the draft 100% healthy. Johnson, the third Jalen drafted after Green and Suggs, has the potential, bu

2020-2021 Philadelphia 76ers: A Season In Review

Not sure what this title means. Who are the Philadelphia 76ers? Sounds like it would be a professional basketball team based in Philadelphia. Maybe a WNBA team? Can't be the NBA because for some odd reason there isn't one there yet.     Jokes aside, this season has come to a close. Prior to the 2020 draft, the Sixers looked poised for another mediocre year at best. The Sixers finished 6th in the East after a great start to the year, Al Horford was being paid $25 million to be a shell of what he was in Boston (which can be attributed to him being a bad fit next to Embiid), Josh Richardson was not what we were promised would be given to us in return for Jimmy heading to Miami, Embiid was struggling with the new roster, and Tobias at the small forward position was just not the way to go. Brett Brown would sometimes try bringing Horford off the bench, but that still wouldn't work. This year brought many changes for the team, and they certainly changed up a lot. Let's ta
